Prerequisiti
Import the Emoji Review template or use your own photo by importing an image directly into the activity.
Prepare the question you'd like to ask participants, for example, "How would you rate today's meeting?" or "What's your state of mind in relation to our current project?"
Tip: Emoji Review is also a great way to survey colleagues at the end of a project to gauge overall satisfaction and brainstorm areas for improvement. Ask questions such as "How would you rate the success of this project?" to gather constructive feedback geared towards continuous improvement.

Corso di azione
Overview
Before starting the activity, clarify the subject or context of the retrospective so that everyone knows how to express their feelings.
Exploration
Explain how the activity works and invite everyone to choose the emoticon that best reflects their opinion, feeling or assessment of the topic under discussion.
Tip: Allow 5 minutes for everyone to examine all the emoticons and make their choice.
Each participant then places their sticker on the emoticon (emoji) that best represents their feeling or opinion.
Discussion
Once all the dots have been placed, start the discussion.
Tip: If you're videoconferencing, use the pointing tool on the screen displayed.
Start with the chosen emoticons and ask each person to share the reasons for their choice. This gives everyone a chance to express themselves and discuss collective feelings.
Tip: Depending on the size of the group, allow around 20 minutes for discussion. By starting with the place where there are the most dots, you'll avoid the overly conventional "round-the-table" approach.
Summary
Once all the emoticons have been explored and discussed, summarize the key points shared to get an overview of the group's mood and opinions.
Tip: Some key ideas can be addressed immediately, while others will need to wait. Feel free to make a note of them in the "Actions and Decisions" feature, so that you have a record to respond to them at a later date.
Suggerimenti e varianti
You can further personalize the question according to the context of your meeting or retrospective. For example, "How would you rate our latest iteration?" or "What are your feelings about our current collaboration?"
If your meeting or retrospective is a recurring one, you can compare emoticons from one session to the next to track changes in participants' opinions and feelings.
